Course Description:
This 3-day course will examine the role, design, and function of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and their supportive relationship as a NIMS Command and Coordination component a Multi-Agency Coordination System. Provide training about staffing, organization, information, systems, communications, and equipment needs at the EOC, such activating and deactivating, operations, as well as training and exercising. Focus on the role of an EOC as one of four NIMS Command and Coordination Structures.
Additional Information:
1) Park in the NORTH parking lot and enter through the east doors, watch for signs
2) There is a microwave and refrigerator available, including a cash-only snack and soda machine and a water bottle refill station on site.
3) Meals are on you own, adequate time will be provided.
4) This multi-day course is supported with Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) funding. You may request lodging reimbursement if you traveled an excess of 50 miles one-way and are an Iowa resident. Requests are based upon available funding. BEFORE making lodging reservations and PRIOR to start of class, email your lodging reimbursement request to HSEMDTraining@iowa.gov.
5) All other travel will be on your own if the above doesn't apply or requested.
