G 108 Community Mass Care & Emergency Assistance
Course Description:
The purpose of this 2-day course is to develop foundational knowledge of Mass Care and Emergency Assistance services in the community. It is not a “how to” for sheltering. Participants will use this information to build community emergency Action Items and to identify gaps in the community’s program. **This course is part of the FEMA Advanced Professional Series (APS)

Additional Information:
1) Parking will be on the south side of the Sheriff's Office, entrance through SE door marked "Civil/Admin", take elevator up to 3rd floor training rooms. 2) Meals are on your own, adequate time will be provided. 3) This multi-day course is supported with Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) funding. You may request lodging reimbursement if you traveled an excess of 50 miles one-way and are an Iowa resident. Requests are based upon available funding. BEFORE making lodging reservations and PRIOR to start of class, email your lodging reimbursement request to HSEMDTraining@iowa.gov. 4) All other travel will be on your own if the above doesn't apply or requested.

ICS 400 Advanced
Course Description:
This 2-day course provides training on and resources for personnel who has a responsibility to function in a command post managing and expanding incident. Topics include use of an Incident Complex and Area Command, and the interactions between Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) entities.

G 191 Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface
Course Description:
This 1-day, Advanced Professional Series course will allow participants to develop an effective interface between Emergency Operations Center (EOC) by applying Incident Command System (ICS) principles. This course works best when delivered to ICS and EOC personnel from the same community. The course reviews ICS and EOC responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on exercises and group discussions to formulate the interface. **This course is part of the FEMA Advanced Professional Series (APS)

PER 211 Medical Management Of CBRNE Events
Course Description:
This course is a combination of facilitated discussions, small-group exercises, Human Patient Simulator hands-on scenarios, and traditional classroom discussions. This course promotes critical thinking skills while utilizing the RAPID-Care concept. - Environmental factors and protective issues for both first responders and the public - Planning for potential consequences of a CBRNE incident - Recognizing and identifying CBRNE agents and their physiological effects on the human body - Recognizing and identifying CBRNE agents and their physiological effects on the human body - Appropriate self-protection measures and measures necessary to limit patient cross-contamination - Assessment of adult and pediatric patients - Basic decontamination considerations - Appropriate triage methods during a CBRNE or terrorist incident - Response to an incident involving CBRNE - RAPID-Care concepts
