Iowa League of Cities Annual Conference & Exhibit
Course Description:
The League’s Annual Conference & Exhibit is largest event in the state geared specifically toward the needs of Iowa’s elected and appointed municipal officials. Held in September of each year, the conference includes workshops, an exhibit hall and unique networking opportunities.

ICS 300 Intermediate
Course Description:
This course provides training on and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System. This course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses.

1) Please bring a wi-fi enabled electronic device where course documents can be viewed. 2) Lunch will be on your own, there are several restaurants and convenience stores close by. 3) This multi-day course is supported with Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) funding. You may request lodging reimbursement if you traveled an excess of 50 miles one-way and are an Iowa resident. Requests are based upon available funding. ? AWR 331 Winter Weather Hazards: Science and Preparedness
Course Description:
Winter storms can strike every state in the United States. It is important that every community be ready for the hazards associated with them. This course assists to provide emergency managers, first responders, and community members across all sectors with a basic understanding of the latest knowledge in winter weather science, forecasting, warning, and best practices in preparedness. The course enhances the ability of participants to identify and describe the hazards associated with winter weather and to better prepare for and mitigate the impacts of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and dangerously low temperatures. The goal of this course is to provide participants with the basics of winter weather science, forecasting, warning, and preparedness. Course Modules: Science of Winter Weather, Winter Weather Forecast Process, Winter Weather Warning Process and Safety, Winter Storm Scenario

PER 344 Social Media Tools and Techniques
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to use social media tools and techniques for intermediate-level messaging, strategy, and increased situational awareness. This course builds upon the existing PER-304 Social Media for Natural Disaster Response and Recovery course by providing more participants with a more in-depth training in the use of strategy, tools, and messaging techniques in the use of social media.
