Hazmat IQ First Responder Offensive
Course Description:
First Responder Offensive employs the HazMatIQ Above the Line/Below the Line System to instruct those who are the initial arrivals at a scene on assessing whether it is safe to enter
the HotZone. The training will encompass fundamental chemical and physical properties, as well as the utilization of the Stay Alive Five equipment (SAFe) Kit, which includes tools such as LEL meters, F and pH papers, Thermal Imaging Cameras, and radiation pagers. This knowledge equips responders to make informed decisions on whether to proceed with rescue efforts or recon (GO) or to evacuate the area (GET OUT) based on the identified risks.
Course Prerequisites:
None.
Course Target Audience:
Those who are the initial arrivals at a scene: DOT, EMA, EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, Public Works
Additional Information:
1) Parking is located behind the building (east lot)
2) Use main entrance, watch for signage
3) Travel and meals are on your own
