CERT Basic Training
Course Description:
The Basic Training Course has been updated to include guidance for emerging types of emergency response, individual and community hazards and to incorporate feedback from registered CERTs.
It features a revised Disaster Medical Operations section, updated Terrorism and CERT Organization section and new hazard-specific annexes.
The Basic Training Course Instructor Guide shares many best practices and tips on how to run a successful CERT training program.
To update the course materials, FEMA engaged with technical experts from colleges and universities, partners from within the government and FEMA learning and training subject matter experts.
The CERT Basic Training includes research-validated guidance for CERT programs to teach members what to do before, during and after the hazards their communities may face.
Course Prerequisites:
• IS-317: Introduction to Community Emergency Response Team (2hr)
• IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System (2hr)
• IS-700: Introduction to the National Incident Management System (3.5hr)
Course Target Audience:
individuals who desire the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and respond to a disaster: teens, adults, retirees, city officials, open to whomever wishes to make a difference.

Friday, May 15, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, Linn County Emergency Management
1) Come in the main entrance of the college and go around the roundabout. It's a brick building on north end of campus we sit behind the tennis courts.
2) Please park in the parking lot to the west of are building and use the southwest entrance of the building.
Saturday-Sunday, May 16-17, 8:30am - 5:30pm, Marion Fire Station 1
1) Plenty of parking, use main entrance, watch for signs
Travel and meals are on your own, adequate time will be provided.
Attendance for all 3-days is required for credit
