AWR 345 Uncrewed Aircraft Systems in Disaster Management
Course Description:
Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) are an emerging technology on the verge of revolutionizing disaster management. This course aims to explain the uses of UAS in disaster work, from mitigation and preparedness to response and recovery, while detailing the different types of UAS and how they are appropriate for different uses. The course also explains the current Federal Aviation Administration UAS regulations, how to apply for authorization to use UAS, and how to ensure the involvement of the local community and protection of privacy.

Course Target Audience:
This course will train first responders, as well as city, county, and state emergency management government officials nationwide. This course is an awareness-level course, and the first in a series of planned courses on Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Disaster Management. Course Level: Awareness
