Floodplain Management & Flood Mitigation Training
Course Description:
Hosted in conjunction with the Iowa DNR, HSEMD, USACE and FEMA, the free training will include: Floodplain 101 - Basics and resources: What to Know and What to Do; How to develop projects to reduce and mitigate flooding; Different types of flood mitigation, including nature-based solutions and acquisition of flooded properties; Potential funding for mitigation options. The training is organized with an informal structure that encourages questions, problem-solving, and answers.

floodplain managers, city and county administrators, elected officials, emergency managers, public works
Additional Information:
1) Come in the main entrance of the college and go around the roundabout. It's a brick building on north end of campus we sit behind the tennis courts.
2) Please park in the parking lot to the west of are building and use the southwest entrance of the building.
3) Travel and meals will be on your own-adequate time will be provided.
4) Each registrant will be asked to complete a survey to identify your subjects of interest and any questions that you would like addressed during this training.
