Floodplain Management & Flood Mitigation Training
Course Description:
Hosted in conjunction with the Iowa DNR, HSEMD, USACE and FEMA, the free training will include: Floodplain 101 - Basics and resources: What to Know and What to Do; How to develop projects to reduce and mitigate flooding; Different types of flood mitigation, including nature-based solutions and acquisition of flooded properties; Potential funding for mitigation options. The training is organized with an informal structure that encourages questions, problem-solving, and answers.

Course Target Audience:
floodplain managers, city and county administrators, elected officials, emergency managers, public works
Additional Information:
1) Travel and lunch is on your own, adequate time will be provided 2) Each registrant will be asked to complete a survey to identify your subjects of interest and any questions that you would like addressed during this training.
