L 0950 All-Hazards Incident Commander
Course Description:
This course provides local and state level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Incident Commander on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an Incident Commander. Exercises, simulations, discussions and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their new knowledge.
Course Prerequisites:
IS 100, 200, 700 & 800 ICS 300, 400
Course Target Audience:
Emergency Management Agencies, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Public Health, NGO’s, and others desiring to achieve effective local incident management capability.
Additional Information:
This training opportunity has first priority for Iowa IMT members or other responders who are looking at obtaining IC credentialing. 1) ALL participants to need to complete a secondary registration on the FEMA site in order to receive an official course completion certificate. (more details to come) 2) All travel and meals are on your own 3) Participants MUST attend all 5-days to earn credit **Subject to expand the invitation to other states IMT members
