Iowa IPAWS- Best Practices for IPAWS usage in Iowa
Course Description:
This course will provide an overview of IPAWS and best practices for use within the State of Iowa. Over the course of the class participants will review the history of IPAWS, the types of messages that can be sent through IPAWS, when to send an IPAWS message and how to construct WEA and EAS messages.
Course Prerequisites:
Must have an active FEMA COG ID in IPAWS. IPAWS users who use alerting software besides Alert Iowa can still attend this session.
Course Target Audience:
IPAWS administrators for each county.
Additional Information:
VIRTUAL training only, registration is required
1) Those who are working to become an IPAWS COG or will be completing the required IS course to become an IPAWS sender are welcome to attend as well.
2) Attendees will also learn how to navigate through the new IPAWS Portal.
