MGT 433 Isolation and Quarantine for Rural Communities

Course Description:

This course designed to provide the knowledge necessary to begin planning for situations requiring the isolation and quarantine (I&Q) of a large portion of a local, rural population. This training will provide public- and private-sector emergency managers, community policy makers, public health, and public safety personnel with the general knowledge necessary to begin planning for situations requiring the isolation and quarantine of a large portion of a local, rural population. A rural community’s ability to collectively respond to an emergency requiring isolation and quarantine is not only essential to minimizing the negative impacts to the community at risk, but also to minimizing the long-term negative economic and health effects on the American public as a whole.

Course Prerequisites:

IS 100, Intro to Incident Command System IS 520, Intro to Continuity of Operations Planning IS 700, Intro to National Incident Mgmt Systems IS 800, Intro to National Response Framework

Course Target Audience:

Law Enforcement, emergency medical services, emergency managers, fire services, healthcare, elected officials, community stakeholders, public health officials, state-local-tribal staff

Additional Information:

1) This is a virtual offering from RDPC, follow the registration link below. 2) Two day--four hours (8:30-12:30) each day 3) Participants are required to use their own computer, tablet or smartphone during the course. 3a. Each participant should log in a few minutes early to test audio/video connections. 3b. While downloading the latest Zoom client app is advised, it's not required.
