Course Name:
PER 345/355 Radiation Instruments Operation & Employment
Course Description:
This one-day training will be a combination of two half day courses. First half describes radiological basics and provides examples of survey equipment that detect radiation. The second half of the day, after lunch, will be spent performing hands on skills using detection equipment. It is highly recommended that attendees bring issued equipment to gain more familiarity.
Course Prerequisites:
Recommended: Introduction to Radiological/Nuclear WMD Operations (AWR-140 or online AWR-140W)
Course Target Audience:
Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Hazardous Materials, Public Health
Additional Information:
1) Attendees must list a Student Identification (SID) Number on the registration form that will be issued on the first day of class. A SID number can be obtained at the following link: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid
2) Travel and meal are on your own
3) Training provided by CTOS
