Floodplain Management & Flood Mitigation Training
Course Description:
Hosted in conjunction with the Iowa DNR, HSEMD, USACE and FEMA, the free training will include: Floodplain 101 - Basics and resources: What to Know and What to Do; How to develop projects to reduce and mitigate flooding; Different types of flood mitigation, including nature-based solutions and acquisition of flooded properties; Potential funding for mitigation options. The training is organized with an informal structure that encourages questions, problem-solving, and answers.

Additional Information:
1) This facility takes a whole block, with Polk County Public Health on the front (south side of bldg)—directly to the north of the Polk County Human Services (DHS) Building.
2) Park in the two east most rows or the southern most row.
