This 8-hour course teaches responders how to size-up any chemical, verify the hazards, select the proper meters and PPE and operate safely in the hot zone. HazMatIQ uses an innovative approach based on the predictability of chemistry. HazMatIQ prepares responders by educating them on the threats as well as the equipment required to safely respond to any CBRNE incident. Utilizing easy to understand lessons and intuitive Smart Charts, responders gain battle proven skills and confidence in themselves and their equipment.

This 2-day course provides training on and resources for personnel who has a responsibility to function in a command post managing and expanding incident. Topics include use of an Incident Complex and Area Command, and the interactions between Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) entities.

This course provides local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities and capabilities of an effective Logistics Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: responding to the incident and effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of a Logistics Section Chief on an AHIMT. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their knowledge.

PRIORITY will be given to Iowa IMT members first 1) Come in the main entrance of the college and go around the roundabout. It's a brick building on north end of campus we sit behind the tennis courts. 2) Please park in the parking lot to the west of are building and use the southwest entrance of the building. 3) Travel and meals are on your own 4) Available travel funding support for Iowa IMT members, email your requests to hsemdtraining@iowa.gov upon registering for details.

This workshop is intended for elected and appointed senior officials from your local jurisdiction that provides a forum for local or regional executives or other community entities, both in the public and private sector, that are likely to be involved in a disaster response.
