AWR 348 Bombing Prevention Awareness
Course Description:
The Bombing Prevention Awareness course provides an overview of IEDs and explosive effects, homemade explosives, an introduction to the terrorist attack cycle, and response to suspicious behaviors and items. This basic awareness is used to enhance bombing prevention measures. Module 1: Course Introduction and Overview Module 2: Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Module 3: Homemade Explosive (HME) and Precursor Awareness Module 4: IED Explosive Effects and Mitigation Module 5: Introduction to the Terrorist Attack Cycle Module 6: Response to Suspicious Behaviors and Items

Additional Information:
1) Come in the main entrance of the college and go around the roundabout. It's a brick building on north end of campus we sit behind the tennis courts. 2) Please park in the parking lot to the west of are building and use the southwest entrance of the building. 3) Travel and meals are on your own, adequate time will be provided.

DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation
Course Description:
This 8-hr., awareness-level, instructor-led course provides hazmat employees at small or mid-sized companies with critical hazardous materials training information on loading, unloading, or preparing HazMat for transportation. Topics covered will help to reduce the risk of accidents, spills and exposure, while also promoting the safe handling, packaging, labeling, and transportation practices of hazardous materials, per the Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR). Specifically, this course focuses on the unique transportation requirements for carriage by highway and rail. This course meets the requirements for Initial and 3-year Refresher DOT HMR training (49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H).

MGT 330 Support that Saves: A Guide to Building and Sustaining Peer Support
Course Description:
This three-day training opportunity that covers all elements of building and maintaining an effective peer support program. Peer support programs provide many benefits to public safety professionals, including acknowledging the difficulties of response work, strengthening teams, and equipping them to cope effectively. Peer support programs: 1) Provide training to identify risk factors for behavioral and mental health problems, 2) Reduce stigma by encouraging conversations surrounding mental health and normalizing difficult experiences, 3) Create an environment where people feel comfortable approaching one another, 4) Link peers to outside professional resources for additional care when necessary. This course enables introduces public safety professionals and other supporting personnel to culturally competent, trauma-informed, peer-supportive care principles, so they are prepared to support the mental health needs in their communities in an individual or team setting.

Course Description:
