Course Name:
Basic Inland SAR Course (BISC)
Course Description:
BISC was developed to look at "SAR from a Federal perspective". This 2-day course consists of lessons with PowerPoint presentations, and ends with a tabletop exercise of a search scenario. Specific areas covered include: SAR network overview, Air force Rescue Coordination Center (AFRCC) resources and mission types, radar and cell phone forensics, beacons, FAA, mission operations to include search theory/family/and media.

Course Target Audience:
Civil Air Patrol (CAP), First Responders, Emergency Management
Additional Information:
1) Lunch and lodging will be on your own
2) Participants must show a photo ID upon entering Camp Dodge
3) Attendees will be emailed with detailed information for the course prior to the start of training.
4) There are 6 primary slots for non-civil air patrol SAR personnel (depending on registration numbers).
