Course Description:
This 2-day training will equip participants with the basic skills needed to be a PIO. The course emphasizes skills development and addresses the impact of technology on emergency public information.
Course Prerequisites:
G0289, Public Information Officer Awareness Training or IS-0029, Public Information Officer Awareness. Also recommend ICS 100 and IS 700; found at https://training.fema.gov/is/crslist.aspx
Course Target Audience:
Individuals who have public information responsibilities as their main job or as an auxiliary function at the state, local, or tribal level of government, to include other state agencies and education areas.
Additional Information:
1) This class will be a VIRTUAL offering conducted by The Blue Cell 2) Microsoft Teams will be used to provide the training 3) Materials will be sent to registrants electronically prior to class 4) If registration doesn't reach 15 students the course may be cancelled.
