G 290 Basic Public Information Officer (PIO)
Course Description:
This 2-day training will equip participants with the basic skills needed to be a PIO. The course emphasizes skills development and addresses the impact of technology on emergency public information.
Course Prerequisites:
G0289, Public Information Officer Awareness Training or IS-0029, Public Information Officer Awareness.

Course Target Audience:
Individuals who have public information responsibilities as their main job or as an auxiliary function at the state, local, or tribal level of government, to include other state agencies and education areas.
Additional Information:
1) This class will be a VIRTUAL offering conducted by The Blue Cell
2) Microsoft Teams will be used to provide the training
3) Materials will be sent to registrants electronically prior to class
