PER 344 Social Media Tools and Techniques
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to use social media tools and techniques for intermediate-level messaging, strategy, and increased situational awareness. This course builds upon the existing PER-304 Social Media for Natural Disaster Response and Recovery course by providing more participants with a more in-depth training in the use of strategy, tools, and messaging techniques in the use of social media.
Course Prerequisites:
PER-304 Social Media for Natural Disaster Response and Recovery or equivalent operational knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Course Target Audience:
Citizen/Community Volunteer, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service, Governmental Administrative, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Other, Public Health, Public Safety Communications, Private Sector / Corporate Security and Safety Professionals, Public Works, Transportation Security
Additional Information:
1) Participants will be required to bring their own laptop or wi-fi enabled device to the training session for the hands-on exercises.
2) This course conducts a pre-test, post-test, and course evaluation online
3) Participants must have Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account prior to attending the course
4) All travel expenses will be on your own, adequate time for lunch will be provided.
This facility takes a whole block, with Polk County Public Health on the front (south side of bldg).
